Tarpaulin Distribution Drive

Background

During the ongoing monsoon season, several families residing in Kurla Mumbai (Jarimari & Safedpul), faced severe difficulties due to leaking rooftops. Continuous rainfall resulted in water seeping into their houses, leading to unsafe and uncomfortable living conditions. Families reported damage to household items, damp environments causing health concerns, and difficulties for children to study and sleep properly.

 

 Objective

The objective of this initiative was to provide immediate relief to the affected families by distributing durable tarpaulins, enabling them to cover and protect their leaking roofs and create a safer home environment during the rains.

Support Provided: Distribution of quality tarpaulins to cover leaking roofs

 

Impact

The tarpaulin distribution created significant relief for the beneficiary families:

·       Reduction of roof leakage and prevention of further damage to their ​homes.

·       Improved safety and comfort for elderly members by minimizing damp ​and wet conditions.

·       Better living conditions for children, who could rest and study without ​disruption.

·       A sense of security and dignity restored among families that had been ​struggling through the monsoon season.


Conclusion

Samikaran Charitable Trust successfully supported 30 families at Jarimari, Safed Pul, Kurla Taluka in the Mumbai Suburban district by providing tarpaulins for immediate monsoon relief. This initiative demonstrates the Trust’s continued commitment to community welfare, especially in times of urgent need, ensuring that vulnerable households are not left alone to battle seasonal hardships.
