🌿 TREE PLANTATION PROGRAM

Total Trees Planted: 140 (70 at each location)

 

1. Program Objective

The primary goal of the tree plantation program was to contribute to environmental sustainability, improve air quality, and increase green cover in urban areas. This initiative also aimed to raise awareness among residents and youth about the importance of trees in combating climate change and promoting biodiversity.

4. Locations & Highlights

a. Sangharsh Nagar

  • Trees Planted: 70
  • Focus Area: Municipal Garden and Playgrounds.
  • Volunteers: Local residents, NSS student groups, and Samikaran staff.
  • Special Note: Young children also participated under adult supervision.

b. Vikhroli

  • Trees Planted: 70
  • Focus Area: Sandesh College Vikroli East.
  • Volunteers:  corporate volunteers, NSS Students and social activists.
  • Special Note: Coordination with College Staff ensured proper pit preparation and post-plantation watering.

5. Key Outcomes

  • Total 140 trees planted successfully.
  • Increased community involvement and awareness.
  • Commitment from local groups and College Concerns to maintain the saplings.

6. Future Plans

  • Expansion of plantation drives to adjoining slum areas.
  • Collaboration with more schools and environmental NGOs for wider outreach.
